Malta – Lazy Sunday

Wrapped up in warm hospitality. Sunday the day after the elections, stormy and rainy we decided to take it slow. So we got up late, had breakfast and I really wanted to go to an open gym at the booth. No sooner said than done and while it was drizzling I did my few exercises. Actually I stretched more, at least my legs, that somehow fell by the wayside and yesterday I was allowed to feel that during my tour. So the muscles stretched, again and again, think they thanked me. While I have made there sport, has formed then also at the beach promenade a motorcade. On the subject of motorcade: I know that some cyclists in tight clothes (cue pot-bellied pigs) and shaved legs and strange sun rims seem ridiculous, but it's nothing compared to people who sit in a car with four, give flags, have music running and honking in traffic jams. Really! To top it all off, there are trucks and dump trucks full of people on the road. Loveparade style. Burner, must have been experienced once. To cut a long story short, the Labour Party remained in power. With 350,000 eligible voters, 35,000 is a huge difference, greetings to Saarland (23 votes, really? 23). The turnout here was historically low, at 86%. So much for the significance of the whole thing here. The election winners were particularly fond of driving through this district here, as it is a stronghold of the Conservatives. To put it in perspective, the Labour Party has been in power for a long time, and even the murder of a journalist (via car bomb) did not disempower them. They know how to hand out gifts to stay in power. That's the way it is with 2 party systems and small states where everyone knows everyone (it feels). What else? At noon a nap, soon I can't afford that anymore, but relaxing is very good for me, hopefully all the little aches and pains will heal. In the evening then grill with Maltese specialties. Great. In this sense, I'm off to the capital right now, have a nice day. And Mr. Putin, please stop your senseless war.
