Fahrschneller!!! Ludwigsburg - Hanau 180 km

Indeed! New bike higher speed! Okay from the beginning. On Wednesday I went to Stuttgart with the intention of buying a new bike, I had already cast an eye on one. Wednesday afternoon stood in front of the store and first drove a few test. A bike with hub gears, is all well and good, but not yet (!). Then a Radenneur, Herdstraße in Stuttgart is the clean up, unfortunately, the front hub dynamo (as with the bike before) as well as the narrow tires kept me away, then a 27.5 incher, net bad, but...... Then the actually chosen tested and up the Hasenbergsteige (who knows it, knows what it is). 160 meters of altitude on 1.6 km. At the top I thought to myself "Where is the sweat?" in a total time of 10 minutes, so much faster than with my old and still unstressed, already good! Then a bit further, the 29 inch tires are nice on gravel and cornering. Also, the pure steel frame springs quite different than my previous "aluminum göppel". Still a bit in Stuttgart Halbhöhenlage been on the road, actually, the decision was made. Back in store and the rest of the equipment (shoes, bags, luggage rack) together (let) and spare parts (chain, brake discs, pads, etc. the whole wear material halt). Felix has made overtime, at eight o'clock in the evening we had everything installed, Felix explained to me in the course of what is new, adjust gear shift, change pads, thru axle, etc.. In the evening then time the bicycle drive in, direction Ludwigsburg, Neckar along. There I was allowed to stay overnight with Bina. God we have long (20 years) not seen and talked. With some people it is like that, you see them every day and have nothing more to say to you and call them your friends and others? You see them again after 20 years and it is as if not a second had passed. We had a lot to tell each other, what a long palaver, until two in the morning, we had a lot to tell each other. It's not like life hasn't moved on in 20 years. It was wonderful. And thank you for the offer of the exhibition space in your store dear Bina, we will be very happy to come back! Okay and then the next morning, 180 km to home, announced were up to 35°C. In the morning we started. The first kilometers as usual, catcalling of the thighs, so shortly after Heilbronn, after the first breakfast, with pretzel and coffee, they were then finally warm. I noticed already that I was faster on the road, measured the whole not yet so much importance. Settled at the end. After Heilbronn still a bit along the Neckar, then the Jagst valley and then it was already in the Odenwald. Of all the low mountain ranges around Frankfurt, the Odenwald is my favorite. Why? No idea! Actually, the Spessart should be equivalent, but it is not. And sure the Taunus has the High Feldberg and then Vogelsberg, well. In the Odenwald there is a lot of paved, very untraveled roads, great hills, oh I know? I`am there simply dearest on the road and the part of the Odenwald through which I drove yesterday, I did not know yet. Also very beautiful! At some point I was then also up in the blazing sun (my plate has now peeled once, or is peeling, spotty matter this skinning, skin cancer sends his regards) and then it went down a long descent to Amorbach. Over tar and gravel, the bike is good at all, especially the cornering is the cracker! The mountain up I could really accelorate, and the mountain down? Now randomly i looked at the speedometer, 63 km / h. Oops! My old has started at 50 km to vibrate funny and this one? Runs like a a+. Hardly Down still 64 km to the finish, I thought to myself, "okay heavy metal" and lo and behold 2h12 minutes I was home. Admittedly I knew the way, it was always along the Main, slightly downhill, but that was fast (average 29 km / h and that after 116 km, 1000 meters of altitude, with light luggage, 35 ° C and nen short stop at the kebab store to me briefly an Ayran and 2 bottles of water to treat). Well that goes probably quite well! Since come me a story of a former "supervisor" (his sign breakfast professor (explanation: An institute holds a "professor" to care about guests, administrative signatures to perform, stupidly grinning to sit in the auditorium and yes-to say and to give his boss the feeling of invincibility, some say also "common lady's mantle"to it)) in the head, new carbon racing bike, 24 km with average 32 km / h (he says, "Of course, without water bottle"). Well far away I'm probably not there 😉 . So the thing runs! The pure driving time was just under 7h, so roughly over the whole distance an hourly average of 26 km pure driving time. Which is thus easily 5 km / h faster than with my old. On the road I was a little over 8h (with pretzel breaks / coffee / drink backpack refill breaks). Think I get with it to increase my range by 30 - 40 km per day, with the same driving time. We'll see next week when I roar along the Mosel, with luggage and then made the first thousand kilometers. In the evening I was still accordingly through and done! Totally overwhelmed with everything, only one thing at a time could do.
