Today with the bicycle over/around the island. It is election Saturday, accordingly, was relatively little going on in the morning. Even a bike path long direction Gozo. Then side roads to Mosta, then Ir-Rabat. There I would have liked to look around a bit longer, looked beautiful. Many tourists. But also had no desire to connect my bike and run around with the bike shoes. So further, the next time. The bike shoes still set a very strange angle, at least the left, as I noticed. But painless, but respectively cramps me quickly the sole of the foot. Otherwise, everything is actually okay, but there I have to readjust again. As well as my rear brake. The pads were through, I found out today. Swap. From Ir-Rabat I went south and sea. Again and again up and down. Have collected a total of 1000 meters of altitude today. Unfortunately not in one piece. The south side of Malta is rather a steep coast and today there was storm, sometimes I even had headwind up the mountain. That really sucks. At the Dingli Cliffs I sat then on a bench and let the storm blow on me and looked at the people as they have always half to the edge walked and then were caught by a gust and are very quickly away from the edge. The cliffs do not end directly in the sea. At the bottom there is still some green, similar to allotment gardens. Still, no one wanted to get blown down the 50 meters there. Understandable. The weather was strange today. The sun slammed down, so I have red skin spots, but the wind let one freeze. Even when driving, the wind dried the sweat immediately, I froze rather. When I sat there and south looked much to me that this is almost the southernmost tip of Europe (Lampedusa is even more southern) and lies in a direct line Tripoli and Africa. The actual plan was to drive via Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco to Spain. Will unfortunately not working, is not only because of the pandemic difficult. Then after I have frozen enough I am then directly back to Sliema, with a short stop in a large sports store. Needed cap and pant and have always incredible fun always in it. People who do sports, know what they need and run through there briefly and have two parts in hand. And then there are those who buy sports stuff. Ohyes that is funny, these tons of material in the shopping carts. Seems like when you start sports you need the right selection of clothes at home. So I went to the gym in an old pair of washed out sweatpants to see how it would feel, but well. Everyone has his approach. In this sense, tomorrow there will be the election results in Malta. There is a two party system (very british) and let's see which half of the population is happy tomorrow. Apparently, the winners then drive at the losers through the neighborhoods, motorcade including horn concert. Or as I say as a cyclist, normal rush hour traffic for me. But it's funny, with the few inhabitants counts almost every vote (this comes from Uli, right he has) and elections are here something serious. In front of each school / polling station were a few policemen around and have watched. And if I can cross half the island and back within 3 hours, it's all quite manageable. Sometimes I have the impression that here the history of each stone is known, although there are many stones here. Stones and yes narrow roads. The northwest (or the back end) is fortunately a bit greener and not quite as densely populated as the metropolitan area here. So now good night and Mr. Putin, you will never be happy again in your country.
