In the beginning there was fire!

I'm still sitting at home, preparing everything, building this homepage, putting together (too much) equipment. Testing, rethinking, cancel insurance and take out some. Optimize the bike and clothes, then again the equipment, then I rethink again, I have too much luggage and equipment, reconfigure, but "what if"? What spare parts? Route? What if Corona? Entry requirements? General power of attorney or power of attorney? Which foreign insurance, does my liability cover? The whole interrupted by job interviews (backdoor?)........

And how does it work with the blog? (I'm just getting to the bottom of it) And what am I actually waiting for? Better weather? No plan! Meanwhile I am quite stressed. WHY? Actually I should just drive off, right? The rest clarifies itself, it was always that way, but I was never so long on the road: The longest tour was to the Black Sea, 3000 km, I had planned 30 days and was there after 20 days. On the morning of the 3rd day I sent 7 kg SEVEN KILOGRAMM of equipment back home from Ulm and did not miss a single item. But this time? Well let's take it slow. The basic idea is to be as self-sufficient as possible on the road. Whenever possible to camp and make the food myself. Normally eat vesper. Salad, cheese, bread, fruit vegetables et voila. This time I want to try cooking again. Spaghetti, ready meal or a can "whatever" it should be, pretty much more important for me: COFFEE. In the morning one or two small cups, GREAT. Before I go, to start positive into the day. Not searching for a bakery or a store with uncertain quality (okay in italy this would not be a problem), pay money, lock bike, ah etc. pp. Do it myself would be better. I`ll be busy with tent dismantling and packing up, a cup of coffee can be brewed. So far so good.

But what kind of burner? Espit cubes, gas or spirit? A gas burner would probably be the easiest? But I just don't feel comfortable roaring over hill and dale with a punctured gas cartridge and a closed one in unknown weather conditions. I've done that before, nothing happened, but it wasn't so great, especially when the punctured cartridge leaked. Also a dry fuel stove is not exactly the optimum. The availability of the fuel and the calorific value scare me off. So remains for now a spirit stove. Good, not expensive and the fuel is available. So far the theory, the practice looks different. The test on the balcony with strong wind was sobering. The available fuel is "difficult to ignite", for me with the lighter not to ignite (with wind), I had to do it with the gas burner (the one for the crème brûlée). But that cannot be the way, right? With one filling I have then also just my neapolitan mocha maker to run (2 cups coffee). The minimum goal! One fuel filling for a half liter of water was not enough, just lukewarm. Not even to get spaghetti-ice-cream liquid, maybe too much wind. Okay optimize, windbreak ordered, at least the fireproof mat works, long matches and then try the whole thing again. Better! Still not perfect, but better. The rest will probably be allowed to optimize on the road. Or then just buy a gas stove. You have to see it positively, the morning coffee will be there and what is better than a cold can of ravioli? Correct, everything! Also a lukewarm! In this sense have a nice day and keep it up....... Greetings (blog will be better soon, promised, even in english)
